The Loreto Kirribilli
Proudly supported by the Ex-Students' Union and our parents and friends.
At Loreto Kirribilli we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
At the heart of our school is the vision of our foundress, Mary Ward, who, more than 400 years ago, dedicated her life to works of justice, steadfast in her belief that girls should be educated, and women empowered to assume positions of leadership.
This year, as we celebrate the school value of Sincerity, we are pleased to invite applications for the Loreto Kirribilli Bursary. Thanks to the generosity of our community, this means-tested Bursary enables students to complete their Senior School education in the tradition of the Loreto Sisters.
Bursary recipients will have the same opportunities as all Loreto students, to realise their gifts and talents, and graduate from the school as proud Loreto women, inspired to make a significant contribution to society.
This represents a wonderful opportunity for students whose families do not have the means to access a Loreto Kirribilli education. The students should demonstrate a love of learning and a willingness to make a positive contribution to the life of their school and the broader community.
The means-tested Bursary will be awarded annually to students providing full or partial fee-relief for their education from Years 10-12.
The Loreto Kirribilli Bursary is proudly supported by the Ex-Students' Union and our parents and friends.
Applications for 2025 entry to Year 10 are open now.
Applicants will be assessed by the Bursary Committee for eligibility, based on the means-testing criteria. The Principal will interview applicants and their parents to ensure alignment with the School’s values before a place is offered.

Yes, provided she meets the expectations of the school in her efforts and contributions and subject to a Bursary Application Form being submitted and reassessed each year. Bursary recipients should demonstrate a love of learning and a willingness to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and the broader community.
Once your Application for Enrolment Form and Bursary Application Form have been submitted, all applications will be reviewed by the Bursary Committee and eligible applicants will be invited for an interview. Once interviewed and offered Bursaries, successful applicants will then follow the usual procedure for enrolment at Loreto Kirribilli. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified.
Not necessarily. An application for a younger sibling will need to be submitted and reviewed in line with the Bursary application policy.
The Loreto Kirribilli Bursary ordinarily only covers the tuition fees of the student. In certain circumstances, other costs may also be covered.
The difference between a bursary and a scholarship is that a bursary is awarded to a student on the basis of financial need (i.e. means-tested), whereas a scholarship is usually awarded specifically for academic, music or sporting excellence. Loreto Kirribilli does not offer scholarships, only means-tested bursaries.
